What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment to help with skin rejuvenation. The device creates controlled sites of micro-injury to the skin to stimulate your own collagen and elastin production. Both collagen and elastin are important to help regain a more youthful appearance to the treated skin. Not only can it reduce wrinkles, it also improves the tone and texture of skin, reduces pore size and can help even out pigment. It is also a great treatment option for acne scarring.

Microneedling can be combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to provide a more powerful treatment with improved results. Some have referred to this as the “Vampire Facial”.

Microneedling is safe for all skin types.

What can I expect when I undergo microneedling?

Treatments take up to 30 minutes in the office. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure so that treatments are comfortable. It is very well tolerated. Treatments take 15-30 minutes with minimal to no downtime. Skin usually returns to normal in 24-48 hours.

What kind of results can I expect?

Most patients observe the best results with 1 to 5 treatments. Improvement in pore size, texture and tone can be seen in the first weeks, whereas improvement to scars and wrinkles may take slightly longer.
